Michael Rodino This is a record that screams brilliance, past, present and future. It's an exercise of control and an even greater display of balance between pure musicianship and a real sensibility for what a good SONG is. This record is going to last for a long time. That's a promise. Favorite track: A Subtle Misspelling.

2nd full-length. Years in the making, some of the song ideas pre-dated Trapezoid Campaign (2009). I wanted to experiment with more "pop" based song structures and an overall darker sound, combining jazz influenced guitar playing and electronic drum sounds. Recorded in my apartment on Goshen St. in Richmond, VA and completed in Spring 2012.

Audio mastered by Josh Osborne via the Subterranea Collective (

released September 29, 2012

Troy Gatrell (vocals, guitar, bass, keys, beat programming, recording), with Nicole Salzbach (violin) on "Tenants".

Track Name: Option House
These are the options we live for
So will you take them when this song is over?

I should have declined
When you tried to collect
But I overreacted again instead
I showed you a side
I tried to protect
When I overreacted again
Track Name: A Subtle Misspelling
I can’t understand
What any of this is all about
Like poison
Swirling deep
You know very well
Where to hurt.
I pretended,
Nothing happened
But you didn’t
Find me where
You very well knew
I would hide.
Seems like yesterday when
You promised me that you’d never lie
I can see where
We’re headed…
But should I have known
From the start?

I'll never forget
Your blank expression
We had to forfeit
And it's important
To use discretion
And never forget
The subtleties.

Leave without leaving a trace
The silent gun
But the whisper knows me
And it won't forget it.
Off in our separate ways
Like it never was
And I've shown my teeth
And I don't regret it.
Leave without leaving a trace
The silent gun
But the whisper owns me.
